Program Facts:
* A family may live at the Center for up to two years.
* Upon entrance into the program, the head of household must either be working, going to school or a combination of both a minimum of 30 hours per week.
* Families are not required to pay rent, but must pay 30% of their adjusted gross income toward debt reduction.
* Families are offered classes in life-skills building, money management, nurturing parent, resume writing, and GED exam readiness.
* In 2006, over 75 percent of the families that left
our Transitional Living and Learning Center have entered permanent housing.
(What We Do)
Camp SAMM
Camp SAMM is a free recreational program for homeless children age 4
years and up.
After-School Kare Program
The After School Kare (ASK) Program was established to provide certified
childcare for all children ages 5-11 who are currently living at our
Transitional Living and Learning Center (TLLC) on Blanco Road.
Parent Nurturing Program
The philosophy of the Nurturing Parent Program emphasizes the importance
of raising children in a warm, trusting and caring household.
Play Therapy Program
Play Therapy can be a valuable tool in helping troubled children work
through their issues, since play is a child's natural method of learning,
developing, and expressing their feelings.
Teen Program
SAMMinistries created the Teen Program to focus on the special
challenges of the homeless teens residing in our Transitional Living and
Learning Center (TLLC).
Emergency Services Case Management Programs (The
Program)
In addition to providing overnight shelter, SAMMinistries offers guests
the opportunity to participate in our Emergency Services Case Management
Program (The Program).
